Welcome to our home away from home. The Woolen Needle specializes in hand-dyed wool and reproduction cotton. We offer kits for quilting, wool applique, rug hooking, and punch needle. One-on-one help is always available. Classes for beginning wool applique, quilting, rug hooking, and punch needle are scheduled at your convenience. Gather your friends and give us a call to book a date in our classroom for the class of your choice.  We invite you to shop the web-site, call or come and visit us in Williamsburg.

Stars, Stripes, & Stitches – Wooly Stitch-A-Long

Join us for this mystery stitch-a-long put on by the Woolie Friends Stitchers!  Event runs April 7 – June 30, 2025.  Our block is called, “Glory Days”.  Other blocks for the stitch-a-long may be purchased by going to the other designers’ websites.  Find more details on the informational flyer.  Join the Woolie Friends Facebook Group for event news, share photos, how-to videos, and more.

Our completed block displays nicely on the 12″ Quilt Hanger Single Leaf or the 12″ Quilt Hanger Circle.  Both of these wire hangers come with clips to hold the block and can be hung on a wall.

We find the Appli-Fuse Mats very helpful to applique wool pieces.  Check out our Appli-Fuse Mat for ordering information.  We also love the Famore Scissors to cut wool, as well as a chalk marker to mark the wool.  Also, be sure to check out the video below where Annette demonstrates the concentrated fly stitch used on the flag.

A Note from Annette…

Stitching takes me to my happy place! And I think about all the friends I have made over the past number of years. I look at these friendships as pieces of my Life Quilt. The goal at The Woolen Needle is to continue to inspire and share creativity with everyone who visits the website or walks through our door.  I would love to have you join us!
