Everyday
we come to work and have to wonder what we ever did with our time before
opening the shop. We are all mothers of busy children who didn’t need us
much before 5:30 in the evening and we needed something to fill the
void. Fortunately, we all had a passion for working with our hands,
whether it be rug
hooking, quilting or just plain stitching.
February of 2006, we found a
corner store front that was
available in our wonderful small town. We had toyed with the idea of
opening a shop before but the time or location just never seemed right.
After looking at the space, figuring out the layout we wanted, we took
the leap. We had the floors cleaned, drywall redone, and new ceiling put
in. Our goal was to have a warm, inviting and “old general store” feel
to the shop. As the fabric came in and we made our samples, the shop
took shape and we were able to open on July 1st, 2006.
The
town of Williamsburg wondered what a bunch of housewives knew about
running a business, especially one that boasted they
were “hookers on the corner.” Support from our community and families
has been wonderful. Through trial and error, we’ve managed to start and
build a business that we all love.
We look forward
to seeing you in our shop and helping those of you online that don’t
have shops close to you. Please feel free to contact
us with questions or comments. We always love to see “show and tell”, so
email us your pictures or stop in so we can see in person. Enjoy
browsing the website and most of all enjoy what you do. Life’s too short
not to have a little fun.
